1. Music lessons are given on a weekly basis. It is essential for students to keep their weekly commitment as this will reflect their progress. Supplies needed for lessons: - Quartz Metronome - Sticky Tabs to hold your place on assigned pages - Music Books
2* All cancellations must be made 24 hours before the lesson. Lessons that are cancelled within a timely manner will be able to take advantage of the designated make-up days during the year. If you do not cancel your lesson within 24 hours, you will be responsible for paying for the missed lesson. If I come to your home or wait in studio, and your child is not available to take a lesson, the lesson fee will be expected, without make-up. Lessons that are forgotten or not cancelled in a timely manner are charged, please do not ask me to arrange make up or request a refund. STUDENTS: Only TWO make-ups allowed 3 Make ups per year. These make-ups will be given based on the instructor’s availability or appointed make-up days in December and June. If the instructor cancels a make-up will be offered.
3* During the School year, if you wish to terminate lessons you must notify the studio two weeks before the final lesson or you will be charged for two weeks of lessons. NO exceptions!
4. Payment for lessons must be submitted monthly on the first lesson of each month. Payment can be made by cash, personal check or through Zelle. An invoice will be sent to you each month.
** An additional fee of $10 when traveling to your home for lessons.
5. Any seasonal changes in the lesson schedule due to sports or other outside activities must be addressed two weeks prior to the first date of the conflict.
6. Practice plays a vital role in becoming a successful pianist or flautist. Practice at the same time everyday so it becomes a habit. Students are expected to practice a minimum of 5 days a week. Parents should help younger students, guiding them as they practice. Remember to keep it fun! 7-9 years old :15-30 minutes per day 10-12 years old :30-45 minutes per day 12+: 30-90 minutes per day depending on interest
7.All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in our two recitals (February and June). This is an important skill necessary to produce a well-rounded musician but please note participation is not required. It is encouraged that any student wishing to opt out of a performance should still make every attempt to attend as a guest.
